IPL was launched in the year 2008. The
organizers spent a lot of money on the event that paid back also involvement of
bolloywood actors and actresses in teams’ ownerships made it more fascinating for
the Indian cricket fans. To increase its popularity outside the borders,
foreign players were offered huge contracts for participation. Here is a little
history of the champions.
1st IPL season 2008:-
The most consistent team was Chennai super Kings
under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. It was a very consistent team and
played really well but still couldn’t win the trophy as they were defeated by
the Rajasthan Royals also known as the orthodox. Rajasthan Royal didn’t had
many famous players still they won the trophy and marked the level for the IPL.
Other teams like Kolkata Knight Rider’s did really well which many famous
players and well had experienced too. Opening batman Brendon McCullum hits
first 100 of Indian Premiere League. Pakistani fast bowler Sohail Tanvir bowled
extremely well and got 6 wickets for only 14 runs which is the best bowling figure
in IPL till date. These two performances under Shane Warne’s captaincy made it
possible for a team which was being considered as one of weakest at the beginning.
2nd IPL season 2009
The second
season was hosted in South Africa as India had general election so the country
government could impart sufficient security to the players. Format was not
changed as compared to its 2008 season. In captaincy of Adam Gilchrist, Deccan
Chargers won the 2nd edition of IPL. Matthew Hayden won orange cap with 572
runs in his bag. R.P. Singh’s purple cap helped Deccan Chargers to lift the
trophy. First time seven and a half minute time out break was introduced in tournament
in the middle of each innings.
3rd IPL season 2010
This season was special as tournament would now
play in home, not any other nation.
IT created history in cricket world as this was the first cricket tournament ever which was broadcasted live on YouTube. League was held from 12 March to 25 April 2010. Four matches were telecasted in the Indian cinema halls as well. Chennai super Kings (CSK) won the tournament as well as fair play awards trophy in 2010 IPL season.

Previously IPL was sponsored by DLF with its
accomplishments of terms Pepsico replaced it and now till 2017 IPl would be
sponsored by Pepsico. The season was mainly highlighted because of the issues of
spot fixing and matched been previously fixed. Rajasthan Royals players were
found guilty. The season was taken over by Mumbai Indians defating CSK by 23
runs the match was interesting as it was the last 20-20 match played by Sachin
Tendulkar and his last match in IPl. Deccan charges were replaced by Sun Risers
Hyderabad.
7th IPL season 2014
Kolketa Knight Riders have won the most recent
version of IPL. Under the brilliant captaincy of Gautam Gambhir, extra ordinary
coaching of Wasim Akram and exceptional batting and bowling performances from
the team KKR broke into the final by making 9 matches’ winning streak. After
such a wonder blend of talent KKR manage to lift the cup of 2014.

As
era proceeds people start moving towards shortcuts and easy going life
which does not take much time the same rule was followed in cricket as
time proceeded test matches where converted to one day and then one day
matches to 20-20. Well this drastic change was very necessary as nobody
gets so much time to sit the whole day and watch a match 20-20 given you
the same excitement and fun in a compact form in which you don’t get
bored. That is exactly what IPL has done from the last few years the
mixture of bollywood and cricket has spiced up the entertainment factor
and brings new excitement to people every year.
IPL was launched in the year 2008 and it was in this year when the first IPL match was played. It was Mr. Lalit Modi behind the whole effort which made IPL take the biggest mass entertainment program of the country. The formation of team and the matches involvement of bollywood made the viewers stick to the league for the whole season with no match going as *NO HOUSEFULL*. It had become the biggest business of the country which had effects on both side of the shore.
